There are several posts on this topic. Try doing a search. From what others have reported re-chroming can run between 80-120 bucks.New run 220 plus. Many (including myself) have been looking for a quality used one for some time.

One sold on E bay last month for approx. 160 used and in avg. shape.

Before I did anything to the old bow light I would make sure that new lenses fit. The lenses changed, I don't know what year, to meet the new requirements. If your old lenses are badly faded or broken, I would not bother fixing the old bow light. You can buy the whole new bow assembly, or I was able to buy just the light portion. If I had it to do over, I would just buy the whole new assembly.

Am I crazy? I replaced my bow light about a year ago. I paid about $35 and bought it at west marine. It is a perko, bi-color light, and it fits perfectly in the original bow hardware. Actually, the light that I replaced was also the same model perko and I am pretty sure it is original. If it is not original, then it was replaced prior to 1992 when I came into possession of this Montauk. Before it was mine, it was my grandfather's and I can't ever remember him needing to replace that bow light either.

Here is the same light at boatersworld:

My montauk is an '83. You can see this light in person at your local West Marine

I was refering to the bow light with the anchor chock assembly. It has 2 post on either side which protects the rub rail from damage when the anchor rope is over the bow. The unit is one piece and curves over the rub rail. If West Marine has them I would buy one. At 35 bucks I would buy 100 and put them on ebay.

My bow light screws into that assembly. The light itself is only $35. The light screws into the top of the anchor chock. If he is referring to only the light, which is all his post mentions, then he can get a replacement from West Marine. If he needs the whole anchor chock plate assembly, then he will need to heed your advise.
