I have a 96 OR that has the factory raw water wash-down. There is a thru hull pickup mounted aft towards the port side. There is white 3/4" hose connecting the pick-up to the wash down pump, with a small strainer in between. On the exit side of the pump there is more 3/4" hose going to a Y-valve. One side of the valve goes to the live well, the other side of the valve goes to a Perko garden hose attachment. My original "factory" wash down pump was a Shurflo, which I would advise you to steer clear of. It kept leaking water into the motor can and rusting, rendering it "in op." I have recently stepped up to a Jabsco model that seems more durable. It is a "bona fide" live well pump that doesn't mind running for a few hours. The motor has hose barbs that clip into the pump head. I bought an extra barb and some extra hose that I can either use as a dewatering pump, or I sometimes fill my live well with fresh water, dip the hose into the water, and bingo I have a fresh water shower. phatwhaler out |
