Hi All:
Being colorblind, I can't see the digital readouts on my multi function Yamaha tach. Can I use my old OMC tach on my Yammie? It's a 1988 70 2S. The 4 wires on tach are green, black, blue, another black. I'd be using the standard Yamaha accessory cable which runs from the keyswitch. I'm guessing green - tach siginal, black - ground, blue - power for tach light, and the 2nd black - ground for the light.

Anyone know if this is correct..

On my Yamaha outboard engine the wiring of all the connectors is shown in the owner's manual. You need a magnifier to read it, but all the info you need is there.
