I have a 115 oil injected OMC main motor and am installing an 8 HP four stroke OMC kicker. I know I can tie into the main fuel line, but I have heard I need to install check or shut off valves to prevent drawing fuel and air from the motor being used. What do you recommend (check or shut-off) and where can I get the fittings?

I recommend brass ball shutoff valves (I know that there are some made by Tempo in the West Marine catalog; lots of other places too), and I would recommend you put one for each motor right at your fuel/water separating filter. Better yet, though some may think it is overkill, run a separate line from the tank for each motor with a fuel/water separator and valve for each motor. |

I used a three-way valve mounted thru the inside gunnel of my '89 or22 |
