I'm in the final stages of restoration on my 1986 20' Outrage, and I'm going to apply the red Whaler dacal and the black Outrage 20' decal as well.

Might anyone know if there are specific measurements (distance from transom, distance from reb rail, etc) to make them look most authentic?

Or, might anyone have a picture to send for guidance?

Please advise, thanks.

On my 1988 22-Outrage the black tape stripe is 1" below the gunwale bottom lip. The "Outrage - 22'" decal is in a gap in the tape stripe, centered under the aft most support of the bow rail. In the pictures I have of 1988 and 1989 20-Outrages the "Outrage - 20'" decal is in about the same location. Older 20-Outrages have an "Outrage" decal located right underneath the tape stripe at the stern of the boat. On the Boston Whaler Catalog CD, even the 1988 catalog shows the "Outrage" decal in that location.

My red Whaler decal is located approx. 6" below the lip and approx. 9" from the stern edge.

I would also look at the many photos on this website where you can see where the decals were placed. Another source would be the Whaler Catalog CD. None of this infers, of course, that Barry's dimensions aren't perfectly correct! Check out Cetacea page 20 for JimH's 20' Revenge, with original decal placement.
