I intend to replace the water pump on this engine mounted on my 15' Striper. Armed with only tools, moral support and a sense fearlessness (note: not armed with experience), I am interested in obtaining the relevant instructions and diagrams from one of the manuals.

Would anyone in possession of the proper manual be interested in faxing said pages to my attention? Appreciation, future considerations, spare bezels or whatever would be minimal return.

Thanks in advance.
Patrick

Hi, Patrick.

Invest in a manual.

Solicitation for copyright violations is also a violation.

Check and thanks.
I naively and hypocritically made the request without forethought, despite ranting about a similar issue here at the office.

Clients routinely and repeatedly use our company's artwork after cropping or photoshopping the firm's name out of the image.

So purchase I will. Suggestions being accepted on the quickest and cheapest method of obtaining the better manual for my purposes.

Thanks in advance.

My first choice would be a factory manual. I think a dealer would have one.

Second choice would be Clymers. Many online sources.

Regarding the "factory manual", I assume that this differs from the Owner's manual which I do have. This Owner's manual provides basic maintenance instructions and little else other than "take it to a qualified OMC technician".

Is the "factory manual" a technical guide for REAL repairs including parts/numbers and related information required to replace a water pump?

prj -

I ordered mine online for a 1995 Evinrude 70 VRO - Cost: 23 bucks plus 6 bucks shipping (Got it in two business days). Saw the same manual last night at West Marine for 29 bucks, plus King Richard's (Daley - Mayor of Chicago) tax. Kicked myself.

Call around to local marina's / supply stores to see if anyone has it in stock - will be faster than ordering it online, and should not cost much more - in fact, it might cost you less.

Hope that helps.

Dave

Thanks Dave, I ordered from my guys up here in God's Country yesterday. Should be in with water pump kit in a day or two.

Speaking of King Richard, I'm still attempting to decipher his latest dictum re: Asian Carp in the Chicago River. Keep 'em out of the Great Lakes Dick!
