I have just bought the Teleflex NFB helm and 8' cable for my 13' sport. How are you folks attaching the helm underneath the console ? Do I have to fabricate a 20 degree wooden wedge under there and if so, the provided bolts don't look long enough.

If any can send any pictures, that would be great.

I did not find anything on this when I searched past posts. Sorry if this is a repeat.

I did not buy the teleflex 20 degree bezel. I hoped to use my original 1967 chrome bezel and steering wheel with some modifications.
I am sure there is a way. The helm shaft fits my old steering wheel. I just need a key pin and a chrome dome fastener nut.

thanks for any input,
Dave

I assume your chrome bezel is the 20 degree sort. I have just gone through this on a 15 footer.

All teleflex systems come stock with the 90 degree bezel and BRACKET. This latter component is the one missing that you need. While I do have an additional 20 degree black plastic bezel, I do not have an additional 20 degree bracket. You will need to buy the package, bezel and bracket, just to get the bracket. Somewhere in the range of $20-25 if I recall.

Good luck.

Dave,

I bought, but never used the 20 degree bracket set. I'd be happy to sell it for cheap as I won't use it otherwise.

I had the same situation you have (old 13' console - new Teleflex NFB steering). I ended up building a new console as I wanted a little storage space as well.

Email me at mbenotti@yahoo.com if you are interested.

Good Luck!
Mark
