the trim gauge for my 89' 90HP Yamaha engine is stuck. Somehow the needle got on the underside of the plastic piece that keeps it in place. Now whenever you power the gauge the needle rises to the plastic guide and stops. This is hard to explain but it is below the little plastic piece that marks the bottom of the gauge. Does anybody know how to fix this. I am not sure I want to take the gauge apart because I am afraid to lose the water tight seal and I really do not feel like spending money on a new gauge. Thanks, michael

Hi Mike: Yep, Yamaha p/n 6Y5-83670-11-00. It's the model for 2000 and earlier, Yamaha outboards. Yamaha made two different analog gauges, this is the more pricey model.

I have 3, glad to help out a fellow Whaler.
