A friends 13 Dautless did have a very pretty welded railing, but in a accident involving a large wave thrown by a big Bayliner, the bow of the whaler came up under the spay rail of the mothership and the railing has been bent down. Its bent at the forward stanchions, the loop that should go around the bow (there's no bow stanchion) has been bent down about 10 degrees so its almost on the gunwale forward. Any ideas how to straigten it? Maybe some line around the railing and a hoist? Or would that just rip the stanchions out of the deck. BTW, the stanchions, which have a rakeish angle anyway, seem just fine. Its actually a pretty tough rail.
