I bought a boat that lost an area of gelcoat that is approximately 1'x2'. It was "sanded" down to the grey filler putty that is used to eliminate the cloth weave look, but the area is smooth. The boat is going to be awlgripped. Can I just prime and paint ... or do I need to have it regelcoated first ?

Prime well with 545-sand with 320- shoot it. Good Luck
