I have a mechanical fuel gauge on top of the built in fuel tank on my 1978 V-20 Outrage. It has a clear cover on the inspection hole which I can't keep clean or dry enough to easily read. Does anyone make a retrofit sending unit for it to go to a dash mounted gauge?

tomroe - aftermarket senders and gauge packages from Tempo are available at West Marine and Boaters World. The sender replaces the TwinSight unit originaly supplied with the tank. The screw hole pattern is standard with the only customization being the length of the arm on the sender. Price is in the $40.00 range.
If the original gauge is a TwinSight there should be two wires attached to it. If this is the case, all you would need is some 18/2 signal wire, an electric gauge, a switched battery supply and a ground. The Twinsight already has the sender incorporated into it.
