I would like to repower my '84 Revenge. Currently have a Yamaha 220. Local marina is trying to sell me on a 150 Yamaha 4 stroke. Any input is welcome.

What length Revenge? I am going to guess 22. Check Whaler's min and max hp rating for that boat and get as close to the max for yours and you will be glad you did. If 150 is closer to the minimum, you will be limited in your ability to venture out in certain conditions. I would be concerned about the strain put on a motor of that size on a boat as big as yours. I doubt they meant TWIN 150's because of the weight of 4 strokes. Give us some information on what type of boating (and where) you do also. That will make a difference.

When did Yamaha come out with a 150 4 stroke?
