I picked up two new new white chocks (Whalerboard?) from my BW dealer for mounting the cooler in front of the console on my 17' Whaler. Given that the cut-out areas of the chocks that the cooler actually sits in are on an angle, it means the chocks could be mounted so that the front ends of the chocks would either be close together in the front of the cooler or toward the outside corners of the cooler. I assume that towards the outside is the correct way...but I would rather confirm first before drilling into the cockpit floor.

Follow the angle of the non-skid.

Are you referring to the chocks that come with the Montauk 170 cooler seat?

I am guessing the chocks which I got from the dealer are from a 170 Montauk; they are a white material, possibly Whalerboard. I am only familiar with the earkier wood chocks. In any event, because of their shape and cutout, they can be mounted so the front of the chocks are either almost touching each other at the front of the cooler, or are out toward the outside corners of the cooler. Which way do the chocks on a 170 Montauk face?

Close in the front of the boat; far apart next to the console.

Just had new wood chocks made for my Montauk. The new Igloo cooler is wider than old one so replaced chocks out a bit farther angled inward parallel to the gunal.
