Has anyone replaced the fuse panel in the console of an older Whaler. With my wooden console on it's last legs, it leaks alot. I worry about the open fuses. Any suggestions?

Forum member Triblet recommended a Blue Seas fuse block, and a couple of other folks have endorsed it. The a good picture of the panel can be seen at http://www.cmsquick.com/prod20_bs_5018.jpg
I've looked at one of these in person at West Marine (WM Part number 167747) and they appear to be a very nice product. They are not too expensive ($25.99), they have a nice plastic cover and a place for both the positive and negative leads for six accessories, which ought to be enough for Nauset (or a my Montauk).
I've not installed one, because so far I'm getting by with my OEM distribution bus and an a few extra Cole Hersey push pull switches and Ancor fuse holders. However if I were to tackle rewiring, this is the product I would use.
See http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001511.html for some more expert advice than mine. Chuck Triblet seems to have a good understanding of marine electrical systems and electronics.

Chuck recommended this box to me. I installed it in my Nauset and could not be happier. Very high quality.

See, there's one of the endorsements! I noticed that the first URL I referenced says the picture is of model 5018. The picture is actually 5015, the one with the ground bus, and 5015 is the model you want. Here's the definitive product sheet: http://www.bluesea.com/catalog_.pdf/fuseblocks/pg_4.pdf
