My 90HP Evinrude is not firing the starboard two cylinders.
Replaced plugs. Switched powerpacks port to starboard and vice versa. Checked all parts for resistance with ohm meter.
All within spec. Also check for shorts and found none.I hate to have to pull the flywheel. Any suggestions ?

Take a look and see if you have a switch along the shift slide area next to the engine. This may be the shift cut out switch and it could be dead. Did you check the timing base? Be more specific as to what you checked. Pulling the flywheel is annoying the first time, but only the first time. You would be looking to make sure there are no loose magnets and inspecting the stator closely, looking for one set of coils to show signs of getting hot and melting off the insulation. Your power packs are obviously ok, why not swap coils? It is far fetched, but cheap, change the spark plugs.

Possibly the trigger or stator ring. Maybe the magnets. They had problems with them lettig go on some models. Sounds like you checked all of the easy stuff. You might want to swap out the coils and wires like Outrage suggested. Steve

Thanks for the replies.I neglected to mention that the engine starts and runs on two of the four cylinders so I guess that eliminates any cut off switch problem. I did not switch the ignition coils becauase I felt it unlikely that both coils on one side would fail simultaneously. But, it's always possible so I'll do some coil switching. I guess I'll have to pull the flywheel.

Found the problem. Bad ground connections on the starboard
ignition coils ! Cleaned up the connectors and the mounting surface and all plugs are now firing.
At least this time I won't have to pull the flywheel.

I didn't think I'd have two components go at the same time
but that's what happened.
Thanks again to Steve and Jamie.
