Does anyone know what wall thickness is best for rails?

Also where canI purchase on line or other?

I bought mine, locally, from a boat cover & awning shop.

Hey..Just bought mine from Boaters World..About $18. for 6' length of stainless steel @ .049 gauge..Same as what was on the boat..Check further down on the forum at Fishcop on 7/30/03..This in regards to a grabrail...Bill

Do you really need 316? That may be overkill for this
application. 304 or 308 may work fine.

Anyway http://www.mcmaster.com/ has 304, 316, and
even 321 (which is a new one on me). Do a lookup there on
stainless steel tubing. You'll find five or six pages.
