Thinking about converting the GTX from I/O to O/B on a bracket. Mercruiser is shot, will cost about $2,000 to replace. Would have to obtain a bracket(W/D?) and make sure the transom is strong enough. Also, remove the fiberglass wall currently shielding the engine behind the rear seat. Just a thought, but wouldn't it make a great deckboat?Any thoughts guys?

It would be a lot cheaper to just replace your Mercruiser.

That's not a common setup. Why would you think of ruining it, especially when replacing the engine is only about $2000?
