Does anyone know where I can find a diagram of the pulley steering system on the 11' Sport? I'm restoring this back to remote steering and I have the console, but no cables or pulleys.

Also, will I be able to connect the pulley steering to a new Tohatsu 18hp?

Thanks!

Scratch the pulley and buty a modern cable system(single). It is safer, cheaper, less screw holes(none) and easier to do.

Bigshot, is it really cheaper? What would I need then, the Teleflex steering system?

Thanks

That is you Ryan....

Teleflex helm and cable is about $150-175 for that size boat. You will need a steering wheel(yours will work) and a steering link arm that may have come with your engine or you can buy anywhere, it ties in the steering cable to the front of your motor($50). Link arms are universal so if you have one from an old engine or can get one from a buddy, etc it will work. Now before you buy anything check to make sure your engine takes the tube, if not an adapter costs another $75.

Sorry Ryan.....not busting your ?????

I broke down the costs above, does not include labor of course. I bought a 1976 13' last year and looked into a whole new system and that is what I found. Luckily I was able to do it used for about $150 total(I had the wheel).
