I have a 15' side console classic. Where would be the prime spot for a humminbirdtranducer (300).I've already broken two hard plastic brackets. Had it located on the starboard side near to first strake (i think thats what they call it)right where the rounded bottom ends. I would appreciate any advice. I've also read that some people mount their tranducer on a hard plastic piece that they glue to the transom. Is there any real benefit from this besides avoiding a few tiny holes in the transom? Additional info-boat has a 50 hp 4 stroke suzuki (Don't know if motor/size affect location or performance of tranducer. Anyway, thanks in advance. lc

Follow jimh's reference article and you will be golden. I followed it and didn't have to adjust a thing.
