I recently puchased an '81 Montauk that has the bow rail with T-fittings. Seems each has come loose, try to tighten but screws keep turning. Any solution to getting the rails tight and solid.

On my 79 I drilled thru each T fitting and used small ss bolts through each fitting with 2 nuts on each cut to length and sealed with locktite. That was approximately 15 years ago and not one is loose today. I also cut out a space slightly larger that the fitting that mounts to the hull and galssed in new mahogany. I remounted the fittings and have not had any issues with them either. This was only on the bow rail nothing else.

Hope that helps.

Have you tried through hull fittings on the side brackets for your bow rails. They really help stabalize the bow rail which I believe takes some of the stress off the bottom (I call them foot brackets) brackets on the bow rail. I posted a reply to this question awhile ago with the part numbers. I would be glad to did out the packaging for mine again(I'm a pack rat they are from 1991)let me know if you want them, I'll either dig up the old thread or re-post them for you..
