WOT '91 Johnson Fast Strike 150 with 24 Raker snaps propshaft about 2" from the case. Not a mark left on the gear case. What happened? Hit something or flaw in shaft?

Theory 1. Too much resistance for the amount of torque. This implies you need to go down in pitch.

Theory 2. Flaw in manufacturing + Theory 1.

Theory 3: Out of balance prop.

A) what Whaler are you running a 24" Raker on?

B) are you the original owner? If so did you EVER have the prop shaft straightened? If so they usually snap later down the road.

c) If not a bent prop or a straightened shaft, s%@% happens and either a flaw or it just got stressed enough and snapped. I have seen many drive shafts snap on earlier OMC's due to a 2 piece unit welded together from the factory(V4's), the weld gives up the ghost sometimes. It would not surprise me about the same happening to a prop shaft but it is not common.
