I just ordered Suzuki 70hp 4s for my Montauk. Is
the 13' control cable length the right size?
Thanks

I am assuming it is a 17ft Whaler. You will need an 18 ft cable. You need the extra to make the loop in front of the outboard. If you connect straight to the outboard you will bind the cables causing them to fatigue, and over time split the outer casing.

Boy, 18 feet seems awfully long for a montauk. I know it has to route from the control box down through the centerline tunnel and back out with a loop, but does that really comsume 18 feet?

18ft is standard shift and throttle cable length for a center console 17ft Montaulk. Trust me, I have rigged many.
