Is it possible to install new fittings on existing steering lines ? The lines are in good condition, one line was accidentally crimped at the fitting and is now leaking. If I could cut off the old fitting and install a new one, a lot of routing work would be saved.
Anyone have any experiance with doing this ?
thanks, Jim

If you really want to know, contact a local hydraulic hose building shop (yellow pages), and ask them if they could install a new end on your hose.

The information that I've seen indicates that only the Teleflex Baystar system was designed for use with any user installable end fittings. All the rest used factory crimped on end fittings.

When weighing the cost of a replacement hose over the potential disasters which may potentially occur if an end fitting were to come off while underway, I'd buy two new hoses, and spend a couple of hours routing them.
