Just put boat in lake for the first time. 1975 montauk with 1985 70 hp johnson boat was running at about 5000rpm WOT..
for about 10 minutes then cut out... after restart would not go more than 1500rpm.... I realized afterwards that I put in 2 quarts of oil for 12 gallons of fuel which is too you think this why I had problem and do you think that I hurt my engine all all by doing this..I have since add more fuel to make the mixture right

Thats only double oil & thats what is used to break in new engines, no damage done in any way except maybe you fouled the plugs.
Remove & clean & re/gap them to .30 [ plugs for all omc engines are 30/1000 ].
If that dosen't bring her back to all cylinders you may have a bad power pack.

I agree with Sal... I owned a 1985 70hp Evinrude for 15 years and definitely know that the plugs do not like any extra oil nor do they like to be trolled around on for more then a day or two without fouling plugs..

Although you can clean them, I would also try a brand new set to make sure the problem goes away... Then you could clean your original ones and have a spare set... I recommend always keeping a spare set on the boat...

Champion, QL77JC4 for sustained trolling and slow speed operation...
