On my hull, where the two clamps for the motor clamp on to, I'm starting to see a small chip of the white shell of the transom crack off. My friend is telling me of diamond plate but I'm not sure what to do. Should I maybe get a professional to look at it?
-Thank You -Matt

Bolt the motor on and loosen the clamps.

Listen to your friend, he sounds like he really knows what he is talking about. Wish I had a friend as smart as him!

Transom is curved....plates won't really work. Either fix the chips with gel-coat, etc and leave be or rig something custom but don't allow water to get behind it.

You can curve the diamond plate with out a problem. But I think before you worry about your boat transome, you need to work on you sking ability.

Are you a Smithtown river guy?

Use an aluminum plate. Tighten the clamps and also bolt. The aluminum will bend under the pressure of the clamps enough to follow the contour of the transom.

Don't worry about my hunk of lead because in the summer when your cursing around at 20mph on your surfboard and I am blowing by you at 45 you can then make fun of my hunk of lead. Then after I am done catching all the tuna in the middle of the sound I will come back in and watch you fish for porgies right off the shore! And then I will probably have to tow you back to the dock anyway because the current will be to strong for your fisher price boat!

My advice is go out and get a real boat not a surfboard.

I would just like some more advice especially the location of where you catch these tuna in the sound, while you're out there in the gulfstream remember to bring bakc s couple mahi mhai so you'll have some food on the table. Maybe volpe aint that far from you** I guess it pays off buying a bath tub rather then spending a little money.
