Sonny	posted 01-27-2004 06:49 PM ET (US)         I put a tape measure on my 1968 SPORT and its transom measures 17-inches from the bottom of the boat to the top of the transom, and 15-inches from drain plug to top transom. Is this a "15-inch" transom? Thanks.
Tom W Clark	posted 01-27-2004 08:36 PM ET (US)             Sonny, Yes, this a 15" transom. Remember the transom height is a vertical measurement, not a measurement along the sloped transom. It is also not a precise measurement. If you went around measuring different brands and models of outboard powered boats would find some small variation of transom height between them.
