Hello,

For my 1965 16'-7 Sakonnet I need to know the proper length and style of Teleflex throttle/ shift cables required. I will be using a new Morse MT-3 binnical control mounted to the top of the original wood console in the normal right hand location. The motor is a 1967 Mercury 1100ss 110hp - six cyl. I have read several old threads and can only come up with cable lengths of 14'-0 to 18'-0. Does anyone out there actually have this set-up or know the installation of this set-up? My best guess is that the 14'-0 is the way to go. Also, do I want the 33c Supreme cables or the 3300 Xtreme? I'm good to spend the money to get the this 100% right. Thank You, Charlie 262-483-4951

You should be able to find cable lengths between 14' and 18'. I have 16' cables on my 1964 Sakonnet and the work well. With better cables, you probably could decrese cable length and bend radius, but I'd be careful going below 15'.

16 should do the trick. I replaced my cables last year, and was able to get in touch with a teleflex/morse tec rep. I've always been sold on red jacket 33 and more so on 33 supremes. But the Xtreme, I was told, is much better than the 33s. I used them, and they're smooth. A test: tightly coil a sample of each and work the liners back and forth...you'll see the difference.
