I have just removed the oil reservoir cap and fittings (mounted on upper part of gunwhales at rear of OR24) to find that all the wwod/foam around the joint appears to be rotted. Is there a quick and sure method to stop the rot and harden up the area.
Thanks for any advice.

Mojo - Many years ago when we were running wooden boats, I used a product called "Git-Rot" that was a penetrating epoxy made to soak into wet, rotten wood and harden it up. I don't know if it's compatable with the foam, however...
