I just purchased a new 2003 60hp 4 stroke Yamaha to re-power a 17' montauk. Question is, I managed to flip over my 13' over 20 years ago after I ran it up on a dyke in the everglades (long story) without too much trouble. This boat is waaay heavier. I want to flip her, strip the many coats of bottom paint, patch and put on a net coat of gloss before I hang the new engine.
Anyone have a proceedure for flipping the boat over that won't put several people in the hospital? Crane, block and tackle? She's completely stripped so that will help but I dont want to put any new stress cracks in her either.

Thanks in advance.

They're not that heavy. I did mine alone. 2 or 3 people is more than adequate. Unless you are all built like Popeye's love... Olive Oil. :-)

If you unload your boat on your grass you can probably flip it over by yourself. Wet your bunks down as much as possible if you don't have any rollers. It's harder to get it off and on the trailer by yourself than it was to flip it.
