How different are the measurements between the classic montauk welded bowrail/console railings (2001-2002) and the non-welded, old school railings(1970's-late 1990's)?Apparently when shopping for mooring cover there is a big difference....

Anyone have any info on this?

I think the welded railings started in '97 or '98, and the
bow and console railing didn't become welded at the same
exact time.

I understand that was the case but I also undetstand that the welded console railing is actually lower in height than the nonwelded. Does anyone know this for sure or should I just go ahead and call whaler direct to get an answer?

thanks

I was corresponding with Mills canvas a while back about
a Bimini, and they cared about both rails. There were three
possibilities: both bolted, one welded and one bolted, and
both welded, and therefore three different bimimi
posibilties.
