When doing research on the web for fiberglass repair I stumbled on this and thought it might give some inspiration to revive a damaged hull.

Both located in Sitka, Alaska...but different user names. I don't follow that forum enough to know but they do have some good projects/discussions on fiberglass/gel coat/repair.
