Is there any maintenance that should be done to a Teleflex NFB steering system? Boat has about 100 hours on it, but is a model year 1997. Lubrication, replacement, etc?

The biggest item I recommend, if it is not already in place, is to replace the original keeper nut on the rear steering tube, with one of the nuts that has a zirc fitting on it. This wil save headaches and replacemets in the future. It keeps your steering fom freezing up after periods of inactivity.

I only spray the piston with wd 40 during the season, when I put my boats up for the winter I grease the piston with Quicksilver 202, I never had problems (Wellcraft and Mako) My buddy greased his steering piston all the time and he had a world of trouble with his.
