i have a 2 stroke johnson 6h outboard on my dinghy and i was wondering what the ratio of petrol to oil is for this motor

Hi, Strapper.

If your engine is a 1963 or earlier the correct mix is 24:1, regular unleaded petrol to TC-W3 rated outboard oil.

1964 and later models use a 50:1 mix; same ingredients.

Some models from the 1980s originally recommended a 100:1 mix. That was later recinded by OMC in favor of 50:1.

If you don't know the year of your engine, tell us the model number off the plate attached to the transom clamp. We can determine the year from that.
