On my '79 Outrage 20' I have a hole in the rear open bilge area going straight down through the hull. Is this a factory hole? What is the purpose of this open bilge area? Is it a drain? I have seen people install a bilge pump in this area. There seems to be an existing bilge pump base (with no pump) mounted in this area currently. I haven't had this boat in the water yet, but when I do, do I need to seal this hole with a plug? Can I use this hole as a through hull fitting to add a raw water washdown system to my boat? Any insight would be appreciated... |
