Does anybody on the list know of a company that can make a larger windshield for the Montauks. I have raised my seat to make it easier to fill the fuel tank and now would like to have a windshield that was both taller and higher on the sides. The boat is a 1997. Thanks, Henry

Can you please append a copy of "the list" that you are directing your question to? This way it will make it easier for people to see if they are eligible to reply. :-)

Making a Whaler windshield is easy. I've had three made and they all fit perfectly.

Henry, look under "plastics" in the yellow pages. Find a dealer that sells and fabricates in Lexan and other plastics.

It's easiest if you bring them your existing windshield and tell them how you would like to change the dimensions. You can also change tint and thickness if you wish. Remember, as you go taller it increases the surface area pressing against the wind. If you build one too tall and thin it can crack under the stress of towing at highway speeds, but a couple inches shouldn't be a problem.

I think my last two windshields cost about $125 each and took only a day or two to fabricate.
