I would appreciate assistance regarding the removal of this beast. I have tried manual methods with no sucess, including an impact screw drver. I am thinking about drilling it out to the top of the fastener and removing the bit, then getting a visegrip on the remaining fastener shaft and backing the shaft out. If not an Easyout would be my next step. What am I up against here? What kind of insert is molded into the hull and how bad is wy life going to get if I screw this up? All I really want to do is polish the darn thing up. Thanks

Hi Randy,
I have a 1980 Revenge V-22 and my bow bit has 4 screws holding down a base plate. Is this the beast that has you pulling your hair out?

I put a screwdriver to it, thinking I would do the same thing, but like you I came to the rude awakening. I look foward to the responses you get to your (our) question of the day.

Mike,
The problem may be the stainless screws and an aluminum hull insert. Guess will just have to wait on the brain trust to help us out.
