Is Regulator-rectifier replace a DIY job on on '87 OMC 90 w tilt (9v)? My EE advisor says that 9v output will boil the battery, so that's why regulator/rectifier is reqd on the 9v system.
Can I convert this back to 6v so a simple rectifier can be used? Happen to have all those parts available off my mystery failures '83 115.
