Help - I've spent the last 5 weeks working on my 75 Carrituk (16) and have new 2-part paint in the interior, all the mahogany was either sanded down or replaced and I'm on my 4th coat of varnish and currently, I"ve been repairing 6 - 8 major skid marks on the keel as well as about 40 smaller dings on the hull. I bought the boat from a fella who trailerred iut but I am putting it into a slip this year. I had to lay down extra fiberglass (resin) along the keel to build it up for beachings this summer - anyway my issue is I am ready to apply the interlux 2001 sealer to the hull and then some awlgrip bottom paint bt I would also like to put a nice red waterline stripe which will aid me in applying the barrier coat & bottom paint but in the 10 - 15 pics I have of it for the year I owned it in the water, all water line shots have the bow on the beach so how can I determine a waterline mark? I cant put it in the water as it's upside down now in my yard and once I turn it over - it would not be practicle to get it to water to dunk it to see where the waterline is as then I would need to gain access to the bottom again and I don't want to untrailer it ad shore it up again. Any ideas would be appreciated. My best guess now is tha in the stern, she settles in with about 2-3" below the waterline but as you go foward, the bow sits pretty high. As a reference, I think the bow eyelet is about 3-4: out of the water so the line that results goes across the front chines which I somehow have to make a transition with the stripe?... Arghhhh....
