Azek has begun warranteeing use of their trim boards as material made into box gutters, with no copper or membrane liner. They have a special hot adhesive that "welds" it. It seems like anything this waterproof might be a good replacement for the outrageously overpriced "starboard" stuff. I just can't stomach $30.00 for 12"x 20" piece of plastic. Anybody try this for matine use? I met a carpenter who built a T-top out of it. |

There's another product a lot like azek, called versatex (they have a website)and it has a lot more uv inhibitors in it. The only problem you might run into, is that none of these types of products are structural. I am going to use a sheet of versatex to build a side console for a pontoon, but I'll still make a frame for it. |
