Hi folks, Went to look at a '68 13 Sport yesterday. 1990 Merc 25 and a decent trailer. Has been stored indoors for the last 5 years. Hull will need repairs and new gelcoat, with a prang or two here and there down to the foam. Should be able to get it for $1000 CDN. Up here, that outboard alone is worth more! What really concerns me, though, was that all around, below the original rubrail, what appears to be the metal-sheathed wiring harness is really rusted and has "rotted" through the fibreglass in spots. Is this a common problem with these hulls? If I go ahead with this project, would it be best to cut out the current harness and conceal a new one in an upgraded rubrail? I'm a bit worried that my rookie fiberglass skills can't handle it! My initial thought was to pass on it, but these older ones are hard to find up here. Plus, my first Whaler was a 13, so the emotional side is beating up on my logical side...... I'm amazed as always at the wealth of information available here, and look forward to any help that anyone can provide! Thanks in advance, Rob
