I am in the process of restoring and modifying a 13' Sport. I was planning on putting a bimin top on the boat, but have decided that it will interfere too much with fishing. I ran across a picture of a 13' Dauntless with a T-Top on this site and it got me thinking. I am converting to a center console anyway...has anyone out there put a t-top on such a small boat? How has it worked out?

A t-top on a 13 would have to be very light. You could try building it out of PVC pipe (light and cheap) with a canvas top. If you think it would be in the way on some fishing trips you could plug the whole structure into rod holder or some other type of sleeve so it could be easily removed. Good luck, would like to see pictures of whatever you come up with.

yea I'm concerned about the weight/balance especially if I get caught in weather (although I dont take this very far off shore). I'm thinking about using 1" aluminum tubing and lashing (attaching) the canvas in a way that I could easily remove it if a wind kicks up so that it doesnt act like a sail. I will probably do the same on Dads 18' Outrage just to keep him from getting jealous! I'll post some pics of each.
