I have a RAGE 14. The cables (direction and gate) cables have [seized] and the steering assembly has a busted gear. Spins freely. I need to replace the entire setup. Boston Whaler gave the me Teleflex part numbers, but it will be a 3 to 4 week manufacturing time to get it to me. I found several NFB systems that look like they would work OK in my system.

Has anyone ever replaced the stock RAGE system with a NFB system?

Thanks, tony

I would personally advise against replacing the Rage Teleflex steering helm with a NFB. The steering ratio on a Rage is completely different from every other Boston Whaler boat. It's 3/4-turn lock to lock. Installing a normal helm would make the Rage less responsive to steering input which could potentially cause a mishap.

Since the original part is still available, it seems prudent to use it.
