In its second year of operation, my Lofrans anchor winch on my 305 Conquest has developed the habit of releasing chain during a day at sea. It backs up until the anchor is held by the retaining cable.
Is there an adjustment to tighten up the winch so it won't release rode? It didn't drop any rode last year.

I had the same problem this year on my Tiara. There is a clutch mechanism that needs to be tightened. I am not sure of the procedure since I had the yard do it, but since it was only a $20 bill I can't imagine that it is all that big of a deal.

Thanks Brian,
There is great big arrow on the winch that points to the direction to tighten. You stick the winch handle in the middle of the which and tighten. That is my kind of repair.
