I'm confused. I just got an email from Sue at Twin Cities which included a package slip for a 1991 Outrage 17. Looking at the parts list, it indicated I should have plastic through hull fittings, not brass. The last time I checked, I thought mine were brass. What gives? There's a ton of paint on the bottom but I don't think I'd get the two different materials confused. I'll check tonight to see what I really have. What kind of fittings are used on a first generation 17' Outrage? If I do have plastic inserts, should I replace them with brass?

Thanks for the input, DaveS

Dave

All the thru hulls on my boat are brass. My boat was made in November of 1990.

I see on Joe K's Hull list http://users.sisqtel.net/jkriz/drawings/outrage17-hin.html that Swamprat's was built a month later than yours. Might check with him.

I have read alot of the threads on brass vs. plastic and I, personally would stay with brass.

Have you seen the thread that gave the great detail on doing them. Think it was Derf?

Sorry to fall out of touch!

Phil
