Topic:   Brass vs SS Fittings

posted 02-10-2006 10:07 PM ET (US)         We just bought a 1980 15' and while cleaning it up I noticed that the rail holders and stern light holder and other fittings except for the rails are brass (green). Neverdull just takes the green off and they will have to be rechromed or stainless replacements bought. My 1989 Montauk appears to have all stainless steel as none of the fittings have turned green. During its restoration the fittings were dull with some surface rust which came off with Neverdull. Assuming my fittings on the Montauk are stainless, when did Whaler change to all stainless? Or did they do it by model? Just curious.
