Hello Everyone,
I have a 1999, 13'Whaler GLS Sport,I use it mostly inshore on Miami Beach and in the Florida Keys. I would like to install a boarding/swim ladder on the boat. The over the gunel type don't work well due to the angle of the boat. I see some newer Whalers with ladders listed as an option. Any ideas on what the best type of ladder/swim plarform to use for this application, and where how it's installed.
Any help would be appreciated.

I struggled with the same thing on my 2000 13 Sport. In 2001 and beyond, Whaler figured out that people might want a way to get back into the boat and started adding wood for mounting a swim platform on the Port side of the transom. For us, the only really good ladder is the dive type that hooks into a small bracket bolted to the transom where there is some wood.

For better or worse, I've always just used the anti-cavitation plate as a ladder.
