I am installing a couple of new jack plates this weekend and need to hoist my engines. I would like to know what the lifting point is for these engines. Do I need a ring or eye bolt like Mercury uses? My manual is 100 miles away, so I can't look it up. In the past to change mounting holes I have always balanced the engines on the skeg while tied off with ratchet straps, but for this I think I need to hang them. They are 1991 Yamaha V4 engines.

Thanks

David

David,

My 1992 Yamaha V-6, 200 HP came with the lifting ring already installed by the factory. Are you sure your's doesn't?

Uh, now I see it. I was looking on top of the flywheel. Now I feel dumb, but that isn't all that unusual.

Thanks, Steve.
