katchaser	posted 06-25-2006 09:54 PM ET (US)         I have a [1964] 13-foot Boston Whaler boat. I am re-doing the boat and have heard about all grip instead of gel coat. Has anybody out there used the all grip or heard anything about the product? chase

bdreaper123	posted 06-25-2006 11:45 PM ET (US)             [AWLGRIP] is a polyurethane paint. It is a very durable paint. I have sprayed [AWLGRIP] many times and it is a great paint. As far as paints go though I prefer IMRON by DuPont. I think it is a bit easier to spray and just as durable if not more durable coating. Both of these paints are not usually for the do-it-yourself-er because they are pretty hazardous to be just spraying everwhere in your garage. Gel coat is many times stronger and more durable than any paint but involves a ton of wet sanding after you spray it on to get a perfect finish.
