One of my 12 gallon tanks under the RPS has corroded enough on the underside to finally start leaking and I have removed it from the boat. I inspected the other tank and it is in good condition.

Has anyone repaired or had a tank repaired before? Is it possible for a welder to cut out the bad portion (6" x 10") and patch in with new metal?

I know that I can replace the tank with a plastic model or both with a single 28 gal., but I saw a picture of a Montauk with the tanks stripped to bare metal and I really liked the way they looked. I don't mind changing out to plastic tanks but would prefer to keep my OEMs if possible. Your thoughts appreciated.

Rick

Rick,

I know of a pair of the OE Tempo BW12 fuel tanks for sale for only $45. Might be worth the investment.
