Looking for some input for three beautiful, unfinished bar stools I picked up over the holidays. They are factory sanded to approximately 400 grit and ready for a finish. They do not have stainless steel hardware, and will remain indoor furniture. About 80% assembled and should be easy to brush or finish with rags. Would like to try a "honey" colored finish on the undersides of the seat portion. Looking for suggestions for product selections. Thanks. zot.

BTW, for consideration of this marvelous site, the Boston Whaler trademark will be branded below the seats as well. j/k. Mike.

There's tons of info on bright finishing and using marine oil. I'd just search away until you find something that makes sense to you. Since your chairs will not be in harsh environment, marine finishes are going to give you the bonus plan. Teak oil or Cetol seems to be popular, Not sure if I'd varnish or not. Most of my experience is all the other marine wood types except teak. Teak experience for me is oil products. Sanding is no big deal if you know what you are doing and use commercial products and techinques.

best
